A Full Workout in 20 Minutes

We are all busy; balancing our work with our responsibilities at home added to the demands of your friends can leave very little time for much of anything, let alone a proper workout. But you don’t need a two-hour workout in the gym to get in shape; you can quickly get the body you have been dreaming about with a full-body workout in only 20 minutes a day. With these daily workouts, you will increase your strength, stamina, endurance, and speed without shelling out outrageous gym fees. All you need is a little discipline.

Feel as strong as Superman

On your daily jog, find a steep incline in your neighbourhood or park. Jog for five to ten minutes and then sprint up the hill. Take yourself a break for about one or two minutes then sprint down the mountain. Take another few minutes to catch your breath, and then sprint back up the hill. Do this exercise three or four times, and then jog on the home; this should be done at least once a week, and within a few months you will notice a significant increase in your leg strength.

Run like the Flash

Instead of jogging through your neighbourhood or a nearby park as you would for your strength training, visit a track that has distance markers. Jog the path for five minutes to get warmed up. Then run a half a lap at a reasonable pace. Time yourself, so you know how long it will take. Walk the rest of the lap and then take a break. When you are ready again, jog a half-lap back, this time trying to beat your last time by a second or two. Repeat this weekly, adding more distance every time.

Build your endurance like a marathon runner

Patience is challenging to build up since it takes a big commitment. But you can build your stamina merely each day. By taking a 20-minute run multiple times in a day will increase your endurance. Take a day that you have time and have a 20 minute run at a slightly slower pace than average. Then return home, rest for an hour or two (or do some household chores – whatever you think is best – and then head out again for another 20-minute jog. But this time you should try to increase your speed and distance. Do this at least once a week, trying to go further and faster each time.

For the whole body

Make a course at home. Start by walking around your house (including up and down the stairs) followed by push-ups for a half minute, then walk around some more. After a minute or two of walking, do some sit-ups or crunches for a half-minute, followed by another one-minute walk. Then, do some dumbbell curls for 30 seconds, and top it off with another step. Repeat this as your busy schedule will allow. This workout should be reserved for that one day a week when you have plenty of free time
